Hotel giant acquires luxury Saudi private member's club
Hotel giant Rezidor has announced the acquisition of the Nofa Resort and Club, a luxury private member’s club located outside Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
The existing property with 57 luxury villas will join the group in the third quarter of 2016 and will be operated as a members-only resort, the company said in a statement.
It is the newest addition to Rezidor’s expanding portfolio in Saudi Arabia that now features 27 hotels with over 5,200 rooms in operation or under development, it added.
“The Nofa Resort and Club is an iconic and exceptionally exclusive product allowing us to enter the luxury hospitality segment in Saudi Arabia, to further diversify our offer, and to strengthen our position in the kingdom”, said Wolfgang M Neumann, president and CEO of Rezidor.
“As the market in Saudi Arabia matures, niche offers such as members-only resorts become increasingly popular and attract an influential clientele. We look forward to offering our international standards and services to these guests and to unlocking additional value for them”, added Elie Younes, executive vice president and chief development officer of Rezidor.
The lodge-like Nofa Resort and Club is only four years old and located 84km away from Riyadh within the municipality of Al Nemar. Adjacent to the property is the Nofa Safari Park with an extensive collection of wild and desert animals such as the famous Arabian Oryx.
The resort comprises 57 villas ranging from 170 to 1,600 square meters and offering total privacy, two family-dining restaurants, a coffee lounge and a juice bar.
Business and leisure facilities include meeting rooms, a large entertainment centre, an equestrian centre, a golf resort, a palm and fruit orchard, and a safari zone.
The property also features a mega banquet hall that will accommodate more than 800 people.
